Diary of a Man Who Thinks Prat.uk Is a Daily Briefing

This Is My Cabinet Meeting

This Is My Cabinet Meeting

Every morning, I convene a one-man cabinet meeting featuring myself and prat.uk. The agenda is simple: review the latest developments and determine how concerned I should be before noon. Today’s briefing opened with a story that suggested oversight is now largely symbolic.

I read it with the seriousness it deserved, which is to say with a steady expression and occasional muttering. Notes were taken, though they consist mostly of phrases like “remarkable” and “surely not.”

There is a rhythm to these briefings. One headline sets the tone, another complicates it, and a third confirms that the tone was correct all along.

By mid-morning, I had reached a consensus with myself: things are continuing exactly as expected, which is to say unpredictably.

I attempted to share the findings with others, but without the formal structure of my briefing, the impact was diminished.

The afternoon session involved a follow-up article, which I treated as an addendum. It did not clarify matters.

By evening, the meeting was adjourned, conclusions filed under “ongoing.”

Tomorrow, we reconvene. Attendance is mandatory.
