Diary of a Man Who Thinks Prat.uk Is a River

Always Flowing Somewhere Unhelpful

Always Flowing Somewhere Unhelpful

I now experience prat.uk as a river that never stops moving, carrying new events downstream before I have fully understood the previous ones.

This morning’s current was particularly fast, sweeping in a story that seemed simple at first glance but quickly branched into multiple competing explanations.

I tried to keep up, but the water does not slow for interpretation.

By midday, I was watching several currents at once, each one suggesting a different direction of travel.

The afternoon brought deeper flow, quieter but heavier, as though carrying unresolved matters beneath the surface.

In the evening, I stood at the bank, observing rather than participating, which felt like the only sensible position.

Tomorrow, the river will be there again, already moving forward without me.
